Most of my week goes to running operations at Warner’s Farm: payroll and remittances, staffing, vendors, logistics. The rest goes to building web tools for problems I’ve actually run into, like a gig driver trying to figure out what they owe in tax.

Gig drivers were guessing at tax time. GigTax gives an exact set-aside number, down to the dollar.

What I decided

The set-aside percentage is the hero metric, not a refund fantasy. 2026 federal and Ontario tax figures are baked into the engine. The rideshare GST/HST immediate-registration rule, which most calculators miss, is in there. A $9 printable pro report is the paid tier.

What I personally did

I designed the tax engine myself from 2026 figures: federal and Ontario brackets, surtax, health premium, CPP plus CPP2. I directed the build and checked the math by hand against manual calculations.

Second build

CarCost

Buying a car in Canada meant fourteen open tabs. CarCost puts it on one page, with verified deals built in.

What I decided

Loan, lease, five-year ownership cost, three-car comparison, and an affordability check live in one tool. Every slider is paired with an exact numeric input. Manufacturer rates are stamped with source and date, with a 45-day stale flag.

What I personally did

I wrote the full spec and designed the comparison logic, including the five-year total-cost-of-ownership math for gas and EV.

Verified

Math parity across 216 test cases with zero mismatches. 24 deals on file, each with source and date.
